1. Le Rocher des Aigles Ecoparc, Rocamadour

Nestled in the heart of the Quercy region at the very top of the town of Rocamadour this park allows you the chance to meet some wonderful birds.

Admire one of the largest collections in Europe. Eagles, vultures, condors, bearded vulture, hawks, owls and parrots. The parks mission is protection, awareness, education, conservation and to maintain captive breeding programs.

There are two bird shows that are on at various times during the day. The first is the "Bird of Prey and Parrot Show". See these birds fly freely right in front of your eyes, their magnificent wingspan and in some cases their colourful plume of feathers. The last show of the day is the "Presentation of Owls: Closing the Curtains on the Owls". This 45 minute show will show you the charms of the mysterious owl and offers an intimate opportunity for you to discover this wonderful creature.

The park is open from April until the end of September. Daily from 14:00 until 19:00, and with extended opening hours in July and August of 11:00 to 20:00.

Parc Naturel Regional Causses du Quercy, Lot Region (South-East of Dordogne)

2. Parc Naturel Regional Causses du Quercy

The limestone plateaus of the Causses du Quercy are well known for their rich biodiversity, culture and history. Here you will find plenty of outdoor activities for all the family to enjoy.

Stretching from the town of Rocamadour in the north right down past Saint-Cirq-Lapopie in the south this nature park is as rich below ground as it is above. The Gouffre de Padirac is situated right at the northern tip of the park and is often referred to as the underground Venice due to its waterways and boats that 'punt' visitors through impressive open chasms and caves.

There are many walking and cycling trails that are signposted throughout the park, making it easier to explore and enjoy.
