1. Circular route between Ouysse & Causse, Rocamadour

Although just 25km this circular route from Rocamadour does cross some challenging terrain. Partly on river path and some parts on road, you will need to have some experience of cycling to enjoy this route fully.

Starting in the dizzying heights of L'Hospitalet at the top of Rocamadour this route will bring you down to the banks for the L'Alzoou river before you pass over to the larger L'Ouysse river, which you then follow on to Lacave. from there you will turn away from the Dordogne river and head back towards Rocamadour.

2. Old Railway Greenway (Voie Verte) Route, Sarlat-la-Caneda

This Voie Verte (greenway) has been created along the track of an old and now unused railway line.

The tarmac surface is perfect for running, walking and cycling (plus any other wheeled sports, such as roller blading and roller skating). this trail takes you through some of the most beauftiful Dordogne countryside before following the river banks of the Dordogne river to the borders of the Lot region.

3. Greenway (Voie Verte) of Lalinde Canal, Lalinde

This short stretch of Voie Verte (greenway) is perfect for families looking to stretch their legs in the Dordogne countryside, without having to conquer any hills climbs.

This stretch of pathway has been created to follow the Lalinde canal and has s smooth surface which makes it suitable for running, walking, biking and roller blading. This unofficial Greenway along the busy but nice Lalinde Canal, downstream from the lock (EDF factory) to the port of Lalinde.

Once you reach the town of Lalinde it is possible to continue on a further 7km. For this, switch sides and ride on the towpath on the left bank, avoiding the D703. At the next bridge you cross the D703, and have a wonderful view over the Dordogne. Cross the bridge and take the paved road towards the campsite 'Moulin de la Guillou'. You can follow this small road along the Dordogne to the beginning of the channel, in Mauzac (total + 7km from the town of Lalinde).

Alternatively, take the lovely towpath, on the right bank of the canal. This can be stony, with some grassy passages and some tarmac area. Once you reach the detention centre, take the paved road to the right, along the Dordogne to Mauzac.

4. La Voie Verte, Perigueux

A 23km trail that follows the Isle river through the Perigord countryside from Trelissac (Charrieras) to Marsac (La Roche).

Enjoy the many varied along this green way, from forests to river and local heritage as well as shaded areas and relaxation. This development also reflects a real commitment for alternative to car transportation. Bike lanes and specific walking paths invite you to move easily while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Dordgone.

As Perigueux is situated in the middle of this walking and cycling trail, you can continue in either direction. You can also make this walk or bike ride as long or as short as you wish. There are plenty of services along the route, including toilets and parking.
