This luxurious ingredient is grown across the Lot valley and a festival is held each year in Cajarc to celebrate the end of the harvest in October.

There is also a heritage fête in July in Quercy to celebrate the planting of the blubs. There are a number of growers operating under a Safran du Quercy SARL cooperative who harvest the saffron by hand. Branded Saffron du Quercy can be bought in local shops or online.
