Musee du Vin & de la Batellerie, Bergerac

Bergerac history museum also known as the Musee de la Ville

featured in Sights & sites

The creation of Wine and River Transport Museum (Musee du Vin & de la Batellerie ) tells us about the heritage and history of the Dordogne River that runs through the heart of Bergerac.

The collections on display are made up of a selection of objects, documents and the archives of former boatmen and archaeological sites along the river. There is a new section dedicated to the history of the bridges of Bergerac, from the Middle Ages to the present and, since 2013, a section of the museum has been dedicated to the history of urban development of the city.
