Les Jardins du Manoir d'Eyrignac
Stunning French gardens of this 17th century manor
The gardens at the Manoir d'Eyrignac were created in the 18th century, a hundred years or so after the building of the manor house.
Originally French gardens, but inspired by Italian styles, they were totally remodelled in the 19th century to English romantic gardens in line with current fashion. However in the mid 20th century, the Eyrignad family decided to restore them to their original form. The formal landscaped gardens are complemented by botanical paths and the audio guides available allow you to discover them at your own pace.
Today there are more than 80 different plant species and over 300 plant sculptures, with 50,000 square meters of hedge to be trimmed there is need of the 6 full-time gardeners! The Manor and gardens have now been in the same family for over 500 years.
The gardens are also available for private booking, such as parties weddings and other special occasions.
Worth knowing
Here you will find one of the best examples in France of the art of Topiary making it one of the 'Plus Beaux Jardins de France' (most beautiful Gardens in France).

Directions
The gardens are situated at 13 km north of Sarlat.
When to come
Open every day of the year without exception. Hours however may vary and it is worth checking in advance to avoid disappointment. Generally you will find they are open from 09:00 to 19:00 throughout the busy summer months from may to September, and from 10:30 until 12:30, then 14:30 until nightfall for the rest of the year.
