Tuk-Tuk Tour (Wine Tour), Saint Emilion

An original & entertaining way to see the city & its vineyards

featured in Guides & tours

100% electric and 100% silent, the infamous tuk-tuk comes to Saint Emilion to take you on a tour or the town and the vineyards that surround it.

Several tours are available, allowing you to experience the region from the comfort of the tuk-tuk. The city tour takes you through the narrow cobbled streets and provides a commentary of the history and heritage of the town. The vineyard tour, takes around 50 minutes and takes you past some of the largest and most famous wine chateaux in France. This guided tour tells you about the Grand-Crus and the other classes of St Emilion wine.

You can also combine the vineyard tour with a tasting for an extra special tour. This takes around 1hr45 and allows you to visit one of the chateau to discover its caves and enjoy tasting some of their best vintage.

The tuk-tuk also offers a shuttle service that runs from the train station to the south into the heart of the city of Saint Emilion.

Visitor comments

  • "Looking for something that would give us the opportunity but in a light-hearted fun way. When we spotted the red tuk-tuks we knew that was the way we could do it! The tour was really great value for money, with a stop off at a winery for a tour and a couple of tasters then a lovely explore of the countryside." - Trip Advisor
  • "A bit more sophisticated and comfortable than the tuk-tuks in India but a great idea and a fun way and an excellent way to see the town. The tuk-tuks which are electric can go places larger vehicles can't reach and they can stop pretty well anywhere. Far better than the tourist trains which are now so ubiquitous and the guiding is much more personal. Great value for money and a good way to get oriented at the beginning of a visit." - Trip Advisor
  • "We used the tuk-tuk tours twice. The first for a visit around the little village of St Emilion with stops to take photos and hear the history of the town. A wonderful way to see this hilly cobblestoned village. Excellent commentary. Then next morning we took the tuk-tuk winery tour - a drive around the country and the vineyards, the stories of the chateaux and their owners, a laugh at the little Glou Glou Glou (a little tavern used to celebrate end of harvest) and then a stop fop a winery tour and tasting." - Trip Advisor
