This area provides water-sports for all ages. Renowned for its architectural heritage and sites of natural beauty, you will find that paddling is a great way to relax and have fun whilst enjoying the scenery.
The 7 canoeing and kayaking itineraries that they propose will bring you close to sites which are otherwise inaccessible. They also offer canoeing trips for 2 or 3 days which will give you the chance to explore the 52km between Montignac and Limeuil.
Watch out for
If it rains unusually hard in the Spring, canoeing is prohibited. If in doubt, call them in advance to check-up on the state of the river if you are worried. As soon as the sun returns, their doors will open again…
Who should go
The Vézère is classified 'level 1' river, which is the easiest level. It’s not a dangerous river and is well-adapted to beginners and accompanied children.
What to bring
The company will provide you with one free waterproof container per family where you can safely store your camera, video camera, picnic, keys and telephone. You may want to hire another one for 2€. Feel free to bring your own icebox and of course a packed lunch!
